In June of 2009 the Holistic Horse Affair was born at
Mustang Hollow near Nunn, Colorado.
We had such a great time it has encouraged us to move forward into a more
publicly accessible location for 2010. Read on.....
We went looking for solutions.......... Throughout our individual journies of looking for the best ways of helping ourselves, our horses and our clients to live their most fulfilled lifestyles, the founders of the Holistic Horse Care Cooperative found the process to be expensive and frustrating when it was difficult to find support and help. In attempting to make the best decisions for self and horses we've been lead down many paths of close mindedness. It seemed that many modalities and most training methods would tout themselves as being the “only” way to accomplish the goals of whole horsemanship.
Recognizing that humans and animals are each individuals, we began to notice that certain techniques, either training or healing would work on one horse, but not on another. It seemed to be just as difficult to find support in blending these techniques as we attempt to create a custom approach for each horse and their human.
In 2009 Robin hosted the first Holistic Horse Affair at Mustang Hollow. The intent was to bring the many different types of horse healers and trainers together to create an open dialogue in which horse owners could also take part. The power generated through this open minded approach is propelling us forward to create the Holistic Horse Care Cooperative and to host a 2010 Holistic Horse Affair at The Ranch in Loveland, CO.
The intent of the Holistic Horse Care Cooperative is to bring horse professionals and horse owners together in a way in which everyone is validated. Empowering the horse owner to feel comfortable in making decisions about how they approach their horse’s training and health care. Empowering the practitioners of horse health care with the support of open dialogues about their way of doing things. Empowering the horse by creating a synergistic relationship within the team of people who use and support the athleticism required in their jobs.
The horse is much better served and can truly be “found” when we all work together with open minds, open hearts and loving intent.
The Holistic Horse Affair is an educational opportunity that is all about being in service to the horse and their owners. We understand that we cannot truly serve the horse in a functional way by closing ourselves off and by being in competition with one another when we work with the horses. The team of people who are involved with a horse must be able to communicate why they feel that their suggestions are the best for the team of horse and horse owner without degrading the potential of another resource. It is the intent of the Holistic Horse Affair to facilitate the creation of a true team of support for both horse and horse owner through networking, educational seminars and an opportunity to see what’s available in the marketplace.
Come for a weekend of well-rounded information on how to keep yourself and your horse as athletic and healthy as you both can be.
It is our intent to empower humans who love horses to see their horses as a whole and to help them use “traditional commonsense essentials” to maintain the mental, physical and emotional well-being of the horse.
